We fell in love with William Grill following a chance withdrawal of Shackleton's Journey from our local library (yes, we've still got one and fighting very hard to keep it!).

This story follows his debut as one of the most visually stunning books that we've seen. As with the Shackleton story, this is based on true-life events- this time of British Naturalist Ernest Thompson Seton.

It is 1892 in New Mexico. A wolfpack roams the Currumpaw Valley, preying on the cattle and evading capture by the exasperated local ranchmen. Due to his knowledge of wolf behaviour, Seton is employed to hunt down their notorious pack leader, king Lobo…

A beautiful and moving story, this book is one of our absolute favourites which we keep revisiting to experience the Wild West in all it's lost glory.

Suitable for all ages.
